I support volunteer groups and get involved myself.

I encourage people to volunteer. When a group wants to serve I load up my truck with supplies and join them. That's me with a friend cleaning up a trail. I lead cleanups with groups including Royal's EcosChicos and Moorpark College's CKI.

After School Clubs

I have worked with partners to make sure after-school clubs are accessible for families and stay high quality. I know many families need a place for their children to go while they are working. I often visit or check in on the needs of our after school clubs.

People belong outdoors

In the Book Last Child In the Woods the author describes Nature Deficit Disorder. People become physically and mentally healthier by spending time outdoors. That's why I am proud of the progress our after school clubs have made on implementing the California Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights.
